Scott Wludyga Leaving WJET & WFXP TV?—I Just Learned How To Pronounce His Name!

In Erie sports anchors, I think Erie is very lucky to have Gary, Mike and Scott as well as the fine sports writers at the Erie Times-News. All these men have a good command of their subject and can convey it artfully and enthusiastically.

As most of you know, Scott Wludyga is leaving the Nexstar stations to go into teaching. We will miss him. What made Scott so special I think is his infectiously broad smile and his total passion for sports. I always had the impression that his news anchor wife, Karla Mullenax, was probably the ultimate sports widow, but at least she could keep an eye on him on the news set.

Scott is so seasoned in his delivery that all that is needed to complete the picture is a hat with a pair of Browns or Steelers tickets sticking up from the brim. (Also keep him from getting sunburn.) We wish him the best in his new teaching career. I am sure the kids will have a ton of fun.

Keep up the good work on the blog.
I wish Scott the very best. He is a very talented sports anchor. I
also left media after 20 years to pursue a career in higher education. The biggest adjustment for Scott will be deadlines. Here they are measured in days and weeks and not seconds.

erieye...what does your comment have to do witht he subject? I could have deleted it, but it is more fun to watch you make a fool out of yourself. Didn't you get the message?

Again your comment has nothing to do with the post, but it is sad that you can only blame the messenger. Your management has access to tons of cash to cover your paycheck if they wanted too. Ever heard of intercorporate borrowing? I am sure they enjoy having their secrets hung out for all to see.

ErieEye, seriously. I wonder if the fact that WSEE workers are bloggin' instead of working may be the reason people are waiting for checks.

Maybe if ErieEye was working instead of blogging during the day it would help WSEE.

Lets all just take a deep breath here and relax. If Jack wants to have his little blog here that is fine.

We must all realize the comments posted are his and his alone.

No one in WSEE management has made any official posting on this "blog."

Nothing has been written about the so called "poor" financial condition of WSEE in the Erie Times News. Come to think of it, there has been no gossip among the TV news reporters about any of this.

In closing, let us remember that this blog site and its postings are opinion only and not fact.

If WSEE was in serious financial trouble the newspaper would pick it up, reporters would leave for other markets, equipment would fall apart, etc, etc, etc. WSEE is all right. They've been around for 50 years and they'll be around for 50 more.

Think about it.....it takes alot for a TV station to go out of business. That is why it is a rare and NEWSWORTHY occurence. And since it isn't in the paper it isn't happening.

We all know Jack is an expert. Fine! But even experts can be wrong. Jack, the region is dying, the FCC isn't going to take away our TV because no one has the money for Digital.

Erie is Dying!
No Money for DTV!
FCC will NOT shut down stations!

GET A LIFE!

Anonymous-2...I never posted here that the FCC would shut down the station. The only persons who have reported about their financial condition is the management itself in its FCC filings. I just posted the link.

What the Erie Times-News chooses to see fit to print is the decision of the Times-News. DTV is a manadate and there is a way that the stations can finance the mandatory conversion. I will comment on that in another post.

Poor Scott Wludyga, his post is being used for personal ends.

The management of the CBS affiliate gets the message. I refrain from using the call letters as that too will someday change. The countdown begins.
