Who Are Your Erie Media Pinups For 2007?

Lot’s of calendars in the bookstores for the New Year, but not one that features Erie’s men and women of media.

Help EMGR correct that little mistake.

If you were on the selection committee, who in Erie newspaper, radio and television would you want to see in a 2007 calendar and tell us why? (Be mindful of the usual rules of good taste and the diverse nature of the EMGR readers.)

"Congress passed a law on February 1, 2006, setting a final deadline for the DTV transition of February 17, 2009. Most television stations will continue broadcasting both analog and digital programming until February 17, 2009, when all analog broadcasting will stop.. " FCChttp://www.dtv.gov/"

Isn't something like this biased against us radio people...since no one actually SEES us? 8-)

Cheers everyone!

Erika Howland. Attractive, smart and a rising star.

Jimmy...

I hope it isn't and readers can use their imagination. It is not a popularity contest necessarily either.

The same is true for newsapers. '

I also think the management types can also be included in the list. I would be interested in those reasons as well. It's just a little holiday fun and maybe tongue in cheek.

Geez, Jack, maybe I should vote for you.

OTOH, I hear the guy who writes about concert music and jazz in ShowCase is pretty hot . . .

Jack Tirak said...

Thanks for the vote of confidence but yes, you can nominate yourself, John.

In no particular order...

Kelly Curan (WSEE)- Who better to do the weather than someone HOT.

Sarah Arbogast (WJET)- Cute, Cute, Cute, Cute, Cute.

Raychel Vendetti (WSEE)- An unbeatable Cupie doll. Short, sweet & lovable.

Elly McVay (Z102.3)- She can rock my world anyday.

Kim Thomas (WJET)- TV does nothing for her. In person...downright gorgeous.

Pat VanZandt (WSEE)- Clear & to the point...She reminds me of the teacher you've always wanted to stay after school with & then go home with.

Karla Mullenax (WJET)- Always thought she was fine. But ever since she let the "girls" show a few weeks ago with the dog segment, I have a new outlook on her. Amen.

Erika Howland (WJET)- Gets hotter & hotter all the time.

Jill Gardner (WICU)- Now that is one hot momma.

Aimee Clemson (WXTA)- County girl, need I say more?

Jen Mobilia (WICU)- Slim, slender & sexy - and has the look of someone that will tear your heart out.

It was SOO nice to wake uip to Jennifer Mobilia doing the weather this morning on WICU. Then flip the channel to see Kelly Curran.

It don't get any better than that...so those are MY two picks

Think also about the radio and newspaper people you would like to see on a rug.

anonymous above - that's only 11 months worth and you left out the classiest babe of all Erie news media - Emily Matson. This is a rediculous oversight. Please avoid using viagra to think.

Also, men do not use the word 'cute' to describe anything- even puppy dogs and bunny rabbits and especially news babes.

Jan - Gardner
Feb - Howland
March is for Mobilia!
Apr - Mullenax
May is for Matson!
June-is overated - Curan
July-is hot hot hot hot Vendetti
Aug-is for Arbogast!
Sept - Bremner, biggest breasts
Oct - Trina- hard to leave off a list!
Nov - is for Nguyen
Dec - Taylor
2008 Bonus months for Seniors!
Jan - Eisenman
Feb - VanZandt
Mar - Post
Apr - Flashback month! lets go to 1998 for some Kiran Chetry!
Back cover flashback! Teresa Murtland! Yahtzee!
Commentary by Don Shriver

The one I would pick for December is WSEE's Jennifer Taylor. I think she has talent...is one of the rare women of TV who knows how to dress and use make-up. The only suggestion I would have for her is to be more comfortable with a teleprompter and relax her body language. She gives the impression she doesn't blink that often, but she does have a good delivery.

She is one that the future holds a bright promise.

I left off the 12th month on purpose, because somewhere one of the listed would have to get a continuation month.

Here are a few more from the days gone past calendar. Gone but not forgotten.

Kiran Chetry (WICU)- 1st & foremost. Nobody compares. (She gets two months worth).

Amanda Barren (WJET)

Rebecca Hower (WICU)

Jennifer Antkowiak (WJET)

Catherine Bosley (WICU) - thank God for wet t-shirt contests and the internet

Lelia Feinstein (WSEE)

Jen Boresz (WSEE)

Dillon Dryer (WICU)

Janice Edwards (WJET)

Lisa Zompa (WSEE)

Gemma Eisworth (WJET)

Don Shriver is a good choice for the calendar's commentary, but I would nominate Ron Nuara to provide it. Sort of like Myron Cope describing a Steelers game or Vin Scully calling a Dodgers game, if you know what I mean. Unquestionable authority on the subject.

Jack Tirak said...

I like some of those entries. I also would like to add Pat Howard, Kevin Cuneo from the Erie-Times, Captain Dan and Alan for Froggie and newsman Dave for Classy. (Anyone who can last 20 years in Erie Radio should be a pinup)

I think Lisa Adams for sure will.

Are you kidding...

How about>>>>>

Annette Tyler WICU

Diana Palotas WICU

I would like to add a month for Missi Meely. Advertising at the Times counts, right? Great story! Great smile!

Anonymous said...

How about Kevin Flowers from the times ... buff, hot and a great reporter!!

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen any mention of Torri Silver. She certainly is an up and comer. And what about the meteorologists, who are all good, but our favorite is Tom Atkins.

Jenson said...

I'm opting out of this one!

Although I do have a few ideas :)

Jack Tirak said...

Jennifer or Jennifer... This is not a beauty contest but one of admiring skills. However, I can tell from the entries so far that there is a lot of the former. Submit

Cyndy Patton
Shirley Ramsey
Jeanne Carnes
Bea Canfield

I'll nominate Gary or Gerry Weiss, (can't think of which it is) he's the guy from the Erie Times who does all the different jobs in those reports and I like his picks for TV in the showcase section too. A good sense of humor and would make a nice picture in your calendar.

Jack Tirak said...

Shannon..

That is a very good nomination and for solid reasons. His experiences in different jobs was interesting.

"Jeanne Carnes"

Looooooooovvvvvvve that Super Duper!!!

Jack Tirak said...

I think you got Jeanne Carnes and "Joey" mixed up.

I nominate Msgr. Tom Snyderwine, the host of Magnify which airs on WJET AM 1400 every Sunday evening from 7-8 PM or anytime at magnify.libsyn.com. Msgr. Tom has the look and voice that exudes intellect and credibility.

Jack Tirak said...

Msgr. Tom....

Didn't know you cared.
