Did O.J. Outfox Fox?

Erie Media-Go-Round Chat Down.

The Fox network, who is no stranger to controversial programming, announced that they bought into O.J. Simpson’s new book “If I did it…here's how it happened” In a two part series, Fox says “O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes."

The program has caused a major uproar across all media. NBC was known to have turned it down and the program was shopped at other networks as well. Good old Fox put up the money.

The Fox network has scheduled the two parter to run November the 27 and 29.

The book will be released simultaneously with the program. It has been reported that Simpson will receive 3 million in advance royalties.

Another EMGR Chat Down.

If he did it…should advertisers buy…and do you plan to watch?
Or as one EMGR reader wrote....

Should Erie Fox WFXP 66... not carry the program?

(Editor's Note: I had planned for this post earlier but with all the local stuff happening, I decided to change priorties)

"Congress passed a law on February 1, 2006, setting a final deadline for the DTV transition of February 17, 2009. Most television stations will continue broadcasting both analog and digital programming until February 17, 2009, when all analog broadcasting will stop.." FCC http://www.dtv.gov/

I do not plan on watching this program. Advertisers should not associate themselves with this piece of garbage.

What kind of a person is Mr. Simpson? "If I Did It...Here's How It Happened" should be subtitled "My Confession by O.J. Simpson!"

Garbage! Garbage! Garbage! O.J. proclaims his innocence for many years and then all of a sudden drops this little nugget on us. He is truly a deeply disturbed individual.

I don't know if anyone believes in Heaven or Hell. I believe that there is a special place reserved in Hell for "The Juice!"

FOX at its Finest!

I hope the program bombs but knowing the sad shape of TV today the program will probably garner a 30 share!

UGH!

If the FOX Network airs this piece of OJ garbage....don't get a wedgie over it...just don't watch it. What's to debate? That's why God invented the remote control. Most nights there about 100 channels of garbage on TV. Some shows are just worse than others.
Next subject?

Maybe the more important question, in light of all the recent discussions we've had about local stations and their responsibility concerning airing details about suicide and other topics is - Will WFXP have the sack and good taste to pre-empt this show?

Above Annonymous....

That is a very good question.

Hmmm

WFXP: "Sack AND Good Taste??" "Pre-Emption??"

No on BOTH Counts!

Hey Bart Simpson!

The local FOX affiliate better let me watch it. Who are they to decide what I can and cannot watch? Those who don't want to watch it have the right to watch HGTV or something else.

The country was so obsesses with the OJ trial, I think people will tune in. Everyone is talking about it (even here.)

I think it all kind of shocked us that he may have gotten away with it back in the 90's and now he has shocked us again with saying how he WOULD have killed them.

It's sick but America likes sick.

I will probably just read the day after stories that will be posted all through out the blogosphere.

I agree, who are they to decide what I can and cannot watch?

Kinda like a certain local TV station group that denies me the right to watch my television in
Digital Quality!?

LET THE PEOPLE CHOOSE!
